My father, Vincent Kennedy, spent 3 wonderful years at The Nest. As a family we cannot rate it highly enough. It has a lovely, warm atmosphere, and unlike most old age homes, it comprises 3 houses, each with its own cook and carers, providing a truly homely experience. Each home is a loving, caring place with special, friendly staff that interact with the residents, who can pop into the kitchen anytime to make their own tea. The Nest also offers daily activities which are fun for the residents. The best thing is that there are no rigid visiting rules. We loved being able to visit my father (or take him out) any time of the day or week.

Trying to find the right place either for yourself or a loved one. Our family was so blessed to have found The Nest, owned, and run by Marianne and her hand-picked team. It's always a difficult decision to put your loved ones in a home. Marianne held our hand the whole way. She always did the very best for our Dad and had his best interest at heart in every decision that needed to be made. He felt safe and called it home, which left us at peace knowing he was in the right place and was always well cared for, with every need being met. My father moved into ‘The Nest’ at a bit of a rush due to the passing of our mother, Marianne and team took it all in their stride and worked to get Darrel settled and comfortable and safe and It was not long before he was at the breakfast table each morning reading the paper to other residents and feeling at home, it was a big change for him and they helped him at every step. I live abroad and being far away I always knew that my Dad was in a safe place and was being looked after incredibly well and all his health and social needs were being taken care of in loving and professional manner. When visiting I would come to pick him up to go out for lunch and the food always smelt amazing and made me want to stay for food, he always looked forward to meal times especially the pudding which they had daily. The team at ‘The Nest’ looked after my dad until the day he passed unexpectedly. I will always remember the amazing way they look after him to end and be grateful forever they did.
